Commenting on the launch, Ronnie Gurion, General Manager and Global Head of Uber for Business said, “With the international launch of this feature, Uber’s goal is to unlock an additional growth lever for businesses by creating an innovative way to bring customers to their door or wherever they need to go. As companies look for new technology and novel ways to engage with consumers, Vouchers provide a perk that businesses know their customers will use.” The Uber Vouchers is developed on the Uber for Business (U4B) platform and has already been tested in more than 100 partners on a global scale. The Uber Vouchers will now be available globally in most countries where Uber operates, which includes India as well.

How Uber Business works:

Businesses in India can sign up for Uber Vouchers by visiting the uber.com/vouchers. Once they sign up, the U4B’s Guest Services team will be made available to support the businesses as they use and integrate the Vouchers. Getting started with Uber Business is pretty simple, as businesses can use the Uber Vouchers to offer discounted Uber trips to one or many of their customers. The Businesses can also create customized voucher campaigns and programs with parameters, budget, specified pick-up and drop-off locations as well as a set time for an offer. With Business Vouchers, Uber has given the business owners the ability to tailor their own events, promote their services using a web dashboard and U4B’s Guest Services team will be available to support businesses. Once a Voucher program is created by the business, they can send the Vouchers to their customers by choosing any distribution method – via email, social media, mobile messaging, etc. The companies who will offer the vouchers will only pay for the rides redeemed under the Voucher campaign along with any applicable administrative fees. When a rider receives a Voucher and clicks to redeem the link, it is automatically added to their Uber app. The Voucher will remain in the app until it expires. The customers who receive these Vouchers can also apply it directly to their existing Uber account. If they don’t have an Uber account then they will be promoted to download the app to redeem the discounted trip via the Voucher. The businesses can see how many of their generated Vouchers have been redeemed or used within a dedicated dashboard. The data can also be exported to streamline reporting and billing. According to Uber, the Uber Voucher feature can be used by businesses such as retailers, restaurants or offices who have to move customers, employees or themselves from one place to other frequently. It can also be used by the hospitality sector or in the insurance space. The feature delivers a real-time solution to the consumers to provide them with additional choice and flexibility in their transportation, while also reducing operational processes and costs for their business.
